Who can apply for theSIE Short-Term Academic Programs of UIBE?

We welcome high school students, undergraduate students and working professionals around the world to apply for our programs. Undergraduate students must submit a transcript with verified GPA above 2.5.

The programs are college-level. Courses are taught by professors from universities in North America, thus English proficiency is required for the program.

You must qualify for at least one of the following requirements to pass our English language proficiency requirement:

1. Native English speaker or studying at or graduated from an institution where English is the main language of instruction

2. IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill

3. TOEFL Paper based test with a minimum of 583 and minimum 53 in each skill

     TOEFL Computer Based Test with a minimum of 93 and minimum 20 in each skill

4. For Students in Chinese Universities successfully passed CET-4 or other equivalent/higher level standard tests.

How do I apply for the program?

For UIBE students, please register your courses via the course selection system.

For non-UIBE students, please log onto the Application Systema to register for courses.

When can I apply for this program?

UIBE SIE Short-Term Academic Programs begin in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter every year. Non-UIBE students can contact their Academic Advisor at home university with the most recent version of course syllabi. The SIE Short-Term Academic Programs of UIBE recommends students to apply as early as possible when most courses are available. Class seats are reserved for students only after tuition payment is confirmed. For the detailed application procedure, please refer to “Application Procedure”.

Can I add or drop courses?

Students can add/switch/drop a course via the online application system. Please contact 0086-10-64492682 or iss@uibe.edu.cn to pay or refund the difference in tuition. Full tuition payments will be refunded if you cancel your registration before the refund deadlines.

Do I need to pay any fees for attending  SIE Short-Term Academic Programs of UIBE besides tuition and application fee?

The tuition and application fee does not include textbook costs, housing fees, meals and other living costs. Students should buy their own textbooks before the start of  the program. Students also need to pay on-campus housing fee if they wish to reserve on-campus housing.
